Looking for Taekwondo in Buford?
Inha Taekwondo is a local martial arts school in Buford focused on helping students grow through Taekwondo, discipline, respect, and consistent training.
While many parents first look for Taekwondo as an activity for their child, Inha Taekwondo sees it as something bigger. Their program is built to help students learn technique, gain confidence, practice patience, and understand the value of earning progress over time.
The school is led by husband-and-wife owners Sloan and Teo, who opened Inha Taekwondo after years of experience in Taekwondo training, teaching, and school management.
Why We Featured Inha Taekwondo
We featured Inha Taekwondo because their approach felt personal, intentional, and deeply rooted in the quality of the training.
Teo has been involved in Taekwondo since he was two years old, growing up in South Korea around the sport because his father was also a Taekwondo instructor. For him, Taekwondo was not something he picked up casually. It has been part of his life from the beginning. Sloan brings the management, parent communication, and customer experience side of the business. Together, they are building a school where the goal is not simply to grow as large as possible, but to maintain quality and give students the attention they need.
That stood out to us, especially for parents looking for a place where their child can learn, stay engaged, and be guided by people who genuinely care about the students on the mat.
The Story Behind the Business
Sloan and Teo met in North Carolina through Taekwondo. Teo was teaching at a Taekwondo school, and Sloan began as a student before becoming more involved in the school herself.
Over time, they began talking about opening their own school one day. After visiting Georgia and spending time around the area, they found the perfect location in Buford. The opportunity felt right, so they took the leap and opened Inha Taekwondo.
For them, the school is not just a business. It is something they have built from years of experience, personal passion, and a desire to bring strong Taekwondo instruction to the Buford community.
What They Offer
Inha Taekwondo offers Taekwondo training for children and students who want to learn proper technique, discipline, and long-term progression through the belt system.
Their offerings include:
Introductory trial lessons
Group Taekwondo classes
Belt progression and curriculum-based training
Training focused on respect, discipline, patience, and confidence
Athletic development for students interested in the sport side of Taekwondo
A six-week summer option
Most of their current students are children, with a strong focus on ages four through twelve, while still leaving room for older students and adults who are interested in training.
What Makes Them Different
What makes Inha Taekwondo different is the balance between serious instruction and a welcoming environment for kids.
The first lesson is designed to help new students understand the basics before they enter a group class. That way, a child does not feel completely lost on the mat. Sloan explained that they use that first experience to understand the student’s personality and help them feel more prepared before joining the group.
They also care about more than physical activity. The school emphasizes respect, patience, discipline, sportsmanship, and learning how to handle both winning and losing.
Teo also brings a strong athletic background to the school. At his previous Taekwondo school, he taught a student who went on to become a national team member, which means he has experience coaching at a level just below the Olympic track. One of his main goals for Inha Taekwondo is to help raise up more students who can reach that national level, while also developing their character, discipline, confidence, and athletic ability along the way.
Who They Are Best For
Inha Taekwondo is a strong fit for parents in and around Buford who are looking for a structured, positive activity for their child.
They are especially worth considering for families who want their child to build confidence, learn discipline, stay active, and be part of an environment where the instructors are paying attention to both technique and character.
They may also be a good fit for students who become interested in the competitive side of Taekwondo and want instruction from someone who understands that path.
Gwinnett Spotlight Recommendation
Inha Taekwondo is the kind of local school parents should know about, especially if they are looking for more than just another after-school activity.
What stood out most was the heart behind the business. Sloan and Teo are building something personal in Buford, with a clear focus on quality instruction, student growth, and helping kids become more confident and disciplined through Taekwondo.
